ABOUT SUMMIT

Our Story

SUMMIT Vans was founded by two best mates — Matt “Rosey” Rose and Matt “Hip” Hipsley - built on a shared passion for adventure, design, engineering, and creating things properly.

From the beginning, SUMMIT was never about building conventional caravan-style campers. The vision was to create high-end adventure vans for people who want to travel further, carry more gear, stay off-grid longer, and do it all in comfort.

Sadly, Matt Rose passed away in 2026 after a battle with stage 4 bowel cancer. His wife, Elle, has since stepped into the business, continuing Rosey’s legacy alongside Hip and the wider SUMMIT team.

Today, SUMMIT delivers one of Australia’s leading adventure van experiences available as a complete, drive-away package.

Every SUMMIT van is proudly designed and built in Australia at our Wollongong facility. Our in-house team includes industrial designers, engineers, cabinet makers, electricians, and experienced trades all working together to ensure every system is properly considered, every detail is refined, and every finish meets the standard expected of a premium build.

Our vans are designed for active adventurers, not traditional touring. They are built to carry boards, bikes, tools, recovery gear, and everything needed for life on the road without sacrificing the comfort, functionality, and refinement of a top-tier off-grid setup.

Drawing on years of custom van-building experience, we have developed a refined range of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter layouts that balance performance, practicality, storage, comfort, and clean design. With multiple floorplans, finishes, options, and price points available, each SUMMIT van can be tailored to suit the way you travel.

We use premium components, proven materials, and carefully engineered systems across every build. From lightweight cabinetry and off-grid power systems to suspension, exterior upgrades, and interior finishes, each element is selected to perform in real-world adventure conditions.

Through partnerships with leading brands including Van Compass, Fox Factory, Weldbeat, and other specialist suppliers, we offer premium suspension, exterior, and touring upgrades to ensure every SUMMIT van looks right, handles properly, and performs on and off the road.

SUMMIT is about more than building vans. It is about creating a complete adventure platform designed, built, and refined by a team that understands how these vehicles are actually used.

Performance, precision, comfort, and capability - built into every SUMMIT van.

BOWEL CANCER AUSTRALIA

Remembering Rosey

Matt “Rosey” Rose was more than one of the founders of SUMMIT Vans. He was a best mate, husband, father, builder, adventurer, and a huge part of the culture that shaped this business from the beginning.

Following Rosey’s passing from bowel cancer in 2026, we are committed to honouring his legacy in a way that helps create awareness and support for others affected by the disease.

As part of this, SUMMIT proudly supports bowel cancer research through ongoing fundraising and donations. We also created the SUMMIT-Rose apparel range, with proceeds going towards the same cause.

For us, this is personal. It is a way to remember Rosey, support his wife, Elle and his family, and contribute to research that may help others in the future.

Every donation, every sale of a SUMMIT-Rose piece, and every show of support helps carry Rosey’s legacy forward.

All profits from our Summit Rose apparel range also go to Bowel Cancer Australia. You can purchase them here.
